55 doses applied to frontline professionals in the fight against Covid-19 in Alfredo Wagner
January 19, 2021 was an important date for the fight against Covid-19 in the capital of Santa Catarina das Nascentes.
On that day, Alfredo Wagner counted 557 confirmed cases, 13 active, 2 dead and 542 recovered, but hope was accompanying this report, as the vaccine arrived and had the first vaccination by nurse Leila Luiza Schlemper.
The State Department of Health made available to the Municipality 55 doses that were applied to health professionals in the Front Line , including doctors, nurses, nursing technicians, dentists, dental assistants, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists , covering Health Units , medical clinic, hospital and Samu .
The first vaccination was at the Basic Health Unit – Center. Nursing technician Leila Luiza Schlemper, 34, Alfredo Wagner’s first person to be vaccinated against Coronavirus, commented with emotion: “ It was a wonderful feeling of relief and hope ”.
“ Inevitable emotion moved over whoever received the vaccine and everyone who was in our health unit. My feeling is of hope, that soon the vaccine will arrive for everyone and that we can return to have a normal life, with more hugs, more human warmth and especially without so much anguish and suffering. The people are so hopeful about this vaccine, and we, who are on the front line, are hoping that everything will work out and that it will work, ”said Municipal Health Secretary Marina Kaiser de Souza.
The Alfredo Wagner Online newspaper asked when the next steps would be, to which the Municipal Health Secretary replied: “ There is still no prediction of when and how many doses will be made available to other employees and also to the rest of the population, but I have hope that soon we will be able to vaccinate all groups in the first stage and later go on with the others and that soon everyone will receive the vaccine”.
