As part of its digital acceleration program, Digital and Inclusive Brazil, Cisco has supported the Brazilian innovation ecosystem in different sectors and now announces the sponsorship of one of the main innovation and technology centers in the country, ACATE (Associação Catarinense de Tecnologia). The company also announces a partnership with the association and Teltec Solutions to support the development and promotion of smart spaces and cities.

The sponsorship provides for the carrying out of joint actions such as research, events, training, meetings and other initiatives on the digitization of cities and urban spaces. Cisco develops and offers technological solutions that contribute to the transformation of these spaces, providing innovative experiences in line with the evolution of cities and new work environments.

In this sense, the first initiative of the partnership is the Primavera Smart Space project, which includes the development of a living laboratory of innovation and intelligent spaces. Fruit of the partnership with the association and Teltec, the laboratory will be installed within Passeio Primavera and CIA, ACATE’s innovation center. The objective is to demonstrate the potential of new digital technologies and smart urban services, as well as experiment and develop new solutions for smart spaces and cities in partnership with the innovation ecosystem of Santa Catarina.

The initiative also aims to promote innovation and collaborate with the ecosystem of local startups to develop and encourage research, testing, analysis, training and share good practices in the use of technologies applied to cities, communities, technology centers, innovation centers, buildings and smart spaces.

The laboratory will include connectivity technologies, cyber security, physical security, IoT (Internet of Things), urban sensors, among others, which contribute to transform the ACATE Primavera innovation center into a smarter space, bringing not only benefits for the administration of the condominium as well as more comfort and security for people and organizations that inhabit and visit the space.

ACATE is the main representative of innovative entrepreneurship in Santa Catarina and recognized as one of the main technology and innovation hubs in Brazil. Its Innovation Center, CIA Primavera, is an innovation habitat with dozens of associated technology companies, in addition to housing an ecosystem of startups including a coworking space, investment funds and event venues, with a complete service infrastructure and support ventures for those who work and attend the site.

Teltec Solutions, Cisco’s partner for more than twenty years and also ACATE’s associate and partner, will be responsible for providing project management services, physical installations and solution operation tests, in addition to the administration and operation of systems and continued development services and integrations.

“The Primavera Smart Space project proposes to transform the current facilities of the association’s building and the entire surroundings of the new building on Passeio Primavera, called Primavera Office, into a living laboratory of experimentation, seeking to attract companies and scientific institutions interested in participating in the ecosystem of co-creation aiming to solve the main and real problems of our cities”, comments Rafael Araújo, business director of Teltec Solutions.

The initiative starts in Florianópolis (SC), but has plans to expand actions to other regions of the country.
