The Caminho da Mata Atlântica Arts and Photography Contest, held by the Regional Management of Epagri in Florianópolis with the support of partners, announces its winners. The awards will be delivered in the afternoon of November 19, during the Epagri de Porteira Aberta, an event held in the capital to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Epagri.
The contest sought to bring the school community closer to the Atlantic Forest biome , which is strongly present in the State and especially in the Greater Florianópolis region. 635 fifth-year students from public and private schools in the 24 municipalities of Greater Florianópolis enrolled, who participated with drawings. 117 teachers from all grades in these municipalities also competed for the award, who participated with photographs.
There were a total of 752 entries, among which the three best drawings and the three best photographs were selected. The best designs will be awarded with cell phones, tablets, bicycles, drawing materials, backpacks, among others. Each of the three best placed in the photos category will receive two nights at Águas do Santinho Residence, with the right to three companions.
The Caminho da Mata Atlântica Arts and Photography competition is one of the actions planned for the Caminho da Mata Atlântica Project, made possible thanks to a partnership between Epagri, Instituto Camargo Corrêa, the project’s financier and Arteris, which sponsored the purchase of prizes for the drawings and photographs.
Atlantic Forest Path
The Caminho da Mata Atlântica (CMA) project is an initiative of the Borandá Movement, incubated by WWF-Brasil. The proposal is to improve a trail that will follow the entire Serra do Mar mountain range, from the Aparados da Serra National Park, in Rio Grande do Sul, to the Desengano State Park, in Rio de Janeiro. Epagri joined the CMA, seeing it as an opportunity for the rural environment of Santa Catarina to sell its landscapes, ethnic groups, culture, products and services on the stretch of trail that passes through Santa Catarina.
At the end of the Santa Catarina project, there will be a 300km trail connected along the municipalities of Botuverá, Guabiruba, Nova Trento, Major Gercino, São João Batista, Antônio Carlos, Biguaçu, Tijucas, Canelinha, Governador Celso Ramos, Florianópolis, Palhoça, Santo Amaro da Empress, Águas Mornas, São Pedro de Alcântara, Angelina, Rancho Queimado, Anitápolis and São Bonifácio.
