Ambipar announces the signing of the partnership agreement with BP Carbon Trading Limited British Petroleum
Ambipar Participações e Empreendimentos SA informs its shareholders and the market in general that Biofílica Ambipar Environmental SA, a group company, has signed a Partnership Agreement with the company BP Carbon Trading Limited (“British Petroleum”) with the objective of forming a Joint Venture to promote, develop and operate nature-based solutions (NBS) carbon offset projects in Peru.
Biofílica Ambipar Environment aims to become the largest Nature-based Solutions company in the world in the medium and long term. Strategic partnerships help increase investment capacity in NBS projects and strengthen corporate governance.
Why Peru?
“Peru has the second largest area of forests in Latin America, behind only Brazil, and has well-developed legislation in relation to other Latin American countries regarding concessions of public areas for forest conservation purposes. Ambipar already has operations in Peru, through its subsidiaries Environment and Response LATAM, enhancing the capture of synergies”, explains Plínio Ribeiro, CEO of Biofílica Ambipar.
