Victim had been missing since Monday. The man’s car was on the highway, and was found without a license plate, about 4 kilometers away from the body.

A 60-year-old taxi driver was found dead with his hands tied and gagged on the banks of BR-282 in Bom Retiro, Serra de Santa Catarina, this Tuesday (12). According to the Military Police, the victim had been missing since Monday (11).

The man was last seen when he left, around 6pm, to take a taxi ride in the region. His car was on the highway, and was found without a license plate,  about 4 kilometers away from the body.

The local Fire Department was called by the victim’s son in the morning. The man went to the barracks and asked for help to search for his missing father. The Civil Police and Federal Highway Police (PRF) were also called, rescuers reported.

During the service at the fire station, the firefighters recalled an incident on Monday night, which resulted in an exit from the road, initially with no victims. At the scene, the taxi driver’s vehicle was found.

Once the car was located, the search was concentrated in the forest. In the early afternoon, the taxi driver’s family found his cell phone near the highway. After further searches, the body was also found with signs of violence.

The Scientific Police were called to carry out an investigation at the scene. g1  was unable to contact the Civil Police until  the last text update
